Cloud Computing in 2014: Facts and Predictions

Few people are aware of this, but 2 out of 3 people working in the information technology sector make use of cloud-based applications. The main benefits of using cloud technologies are more and more obvious as a larger number of entrepreneurs start to use them.

To begin with, the cost is lower. It is much easier to host your content in the cloud, rather than paying hefty amounts of money for qualified IT personnel. More than 4 out of 5 CIOs declare that they have improved the profitability of their businesses by moving to the cloud. Under these circumstances, it isn’t a surprise that more and more American business owners plan to increase their budgets in 2014.

There are some negative aspects to be considered, though. Many people continue to be worried because their data might fall into the wrong hands, and the recent hacking attempts didn’t help ease their minds. In addition to this, data backup and archiving continues to be a concern for the business owners that want to access the data fast, whenever they want to.

Despite all of this, it looks like 2014 is going to be another year in which the cloud-based services will continue to grow.
