Laws That Apply to Bicyclists

The aim of this infographic is to raise awareness of the traffic laws that bicyclists must know and respect. The most important one states that no person under 14 years old is allowed to ride a bike on public roads. Having an identity card with you when going around the city with the bicycle is required and wearing a helmet is mandatory, as well as wearing a reflective vest at night.

The bicycle must fulfill basic technical requirements such as functional braking and direction system, a bicycle horn and proper lights. Also, people are allowed to ride their bike in the same traffic lanes that cars use only when the road is not provided with a bicycle lane. If there is a special lane for bicyclists, they are required to use it. Moreover, they must move in a row on public roads to avoid the possibility of getting distracted by another bicyclist and not to disturb the drivers. For more information visit www.jobrienlaw.com.
